Brittany Ussery

Well-Being Co-Director

Hey there! My name is Brittany Ussery. I am located in Fishers, IN, but originally from Kokomo, IN. I am a lover of plants, being outdoors, non dairy ice cream, documentaries and encouraging others to explore their truest self. I am the owner of Innate Texture Salon where I offer a variety of curly hair services, education and curly coaching. Outside of the salon I education parents, caretakers, hair stylists, aspiring hairstylist, communities and schools on the best ways for care for and speak to curly, textured hair. At Lark’s Song, I am a board member and apart of the Made Wild exploration committee.

My life and work have been enriched in so many ways that I often find myself struggling with the perfect words to describe exactly how. I was introduced to Lark’s Song back in 2015, but truly become fascinated with the organization while on a Made Wild hiking trip in Kentucky at Red River Gorge. I was encouraged at that time to truly explore who I was meant to be - without the noise and expectation of others. On that four day trip in the middle of the forest, I started to truly understand what life coaching could do not only for myself, but for those I would come in contact with. The program has enriched and molded the way that I view my business. Through collaboration, honest conversation around my values, and understanding what makes my heart explode, Lark’s Song has encouraged me to create a space that is more than a hair salon. I have been able to create a space where my clients are encouraged to explore their truest selves through the expression of their hair and their wardrobe without judgment.
